GCT Takes Delivery of Additional STS Cranes Under Renewal Drive

Global Container Terminals (GCT) is progressing its multi-year terminal enhancement initiative at Deltaport with the delivery of two additional ship-to-shore (STS) cranes. These new cranes are part of a CA$170 million investment in modern cargo handling equipment designed to replace ageing units, strengthen operational safety and boost overall terminal efficiency. The project focuses on upgrading the terminal’s crane fleet with advanced equipment that supports smoother vessel operations, improved cargo throughput, and flexible service offerings for larger container vessels.

Sany Straddle Carriers Head for Algeria

Sany Port Machinery, a division of the Chinese construction and port equipment giant Sany Group, has officially delivered its first batch of straddle carriers to Enterprise Portuaire de Oran in Algeria. This marks Sany’s formal entry into the straddle-carrier sector, after previously announcing an order for 11 diesel-powered units for an Algerian client. The delivery reflects the company’s global expansion strategy and its focus on high-performance port solutions.
